Top 10 Reasons why the SDP should court the FaLunGong

September 6, 2006 · Leave a Comment

1. The fact is, most Singaporeans do not really support the SDP and Dr Chee Soon Juan due largely to PAP’s shenanigans; they should boost their support by importing ready-made <b>foreign talent</b> like Falungong activists.

2. The sad fact is, most Singaporeans do not like to protest or are afraid of protesting in Singapore. The Falungong however, aren’t afraid to protest and have a good track record of doing it right here in Singapore. The SDP only need to convince the Falungong that the SG Govt is equivalent to the PRC Govt.

3. The SDP is evolving into an NGO; they should take up the worthy cause of the Falungong and become an international political party and advocate for Falungong globally. This will boost the international stature of the SDP.

4. Most of the Falungong activists are PRC nationals, SDP incurs no great political cost to its local support base if these PRC nationals do get into trouble.

5. The PRC, being the world’s most populated country, will continue to export a flood of ready-made Falungong activists to replace those who are deported. This means that SDP will have a continuous stream of foreign talent.

6. The Falungong issue is a sure winner with international human rights organisations; they are bed-buddies with most western groups. Helping the Falungong in Singapore will ensure that SDP can get some Falungong aid funding to fight the anticipated deluge of defamation and public order cases. They may even get enough money to fight their own defamation suits.

7. It’s quite likely the Falungong activists won’t be able to articulate well in English; the SDP can help them articulate their grouses in English, win-win.

8. The Falungong activists do not seem to understand the SG public protest procedures; SDP can assist in obtaining licensing from the SG Police Dogs and charge a small commission for their troubles.

9. Because it will solve the attendance issue for the Empower Singaporeans Rally. It will only require a minor theme change to the rally.

10. Because <insert your choice conspiracy theory>

I apologise if the sarcasm doesn’t drip off the screen.

If the Falungong really joins forces with SDP, I am pretty sure that Falungong will be annihilated. As it is there is realy no problem for Falungong to exist SG, it enjoys a semi-close-one-eye privilege the Govt has grudgingly accorded them. The Govt lets them live and when their members go abit crazy and ignore the SG Police, they get arrested and deported. No big stick up the Falungong’s ass, just simple rules to follow: once broken, considered sold (read arrested and deported).

But if Falungong cosies up with SDP through their lawyer, M Ravi, and joins forces with PAP’s Public Enemy #1, and by proxy the SDP, it will mean the end of the Falungong in SG. Recently SDP joined in with many Falungong activities in Singapore because CSJ is basically following Lee’s call to welcome foreigners to SG (wit).

SOoo CSJ, being a true-blue steely-eyed patriot, is welcoming the Falungong into the SDP. Since Singaporeans don’t support CSJ, he imports foreign talent to support him and SDP and can use them to Empower Singapore. Makes good sense for CSJ because Falungong is the darling of all human rights groups around the world.

For CSJ good. For Falungong bad. Joining forces with CSJ and SDP could mean first degree suicide. Maybe the Falungong do not really know CSJ’s place in PAP’s hearts but when CSJ steps out of his door, it’s the signal to activate 1 platoon of riot police. When CSJ sells a rag, that’s the hand-signal to deploy 2 platoons of undercover police. And now that Falungong and CSJ are good friends, Falungong will be by proxy co-Public Enemy #1.

Which is a bit funny actually, because Falungong is fighting the PRC govt and not the SG Govt. So now with this apparent partnership, Falungong will come under Govt’s high-gain Doppler radar. This is the exclusive radar reserved only for CSJ and his gang. Worse is that Falungong is like a religious thing and of all things, PRC and Chinese-related. This means we could be treading on racial and religious grounds. Which means Falungong could now face the full force of the SG Govt and possibly the general populace behind it. The full power of the SG Govt is no different from the PRC Govt’s full force, except the former hides the abuse better and more often.

In any case, Dragon Lee himself said we must welcome immigrants, backed up by our local media no less. But lest we forget, when Dragon Lee say all Singapore, he meant only the MIW and its supporters. This obviously excludes folks like CSJ.

So the day Falungong and SDP join forces will be the day Falungong in SG gets backrupted, like CSJ, this I’m positive. That, will mean the end of Falungong in Singapore.
